Golf – Go Hit Some Balls

No it’s not just for retirees and more! Whip out your plaid plants and go hit some balls!

The cool morning breeze gently blows across the golf course as you begin your early morning game, joined by close friends and colleague. The prospect of good conversation, maybe a mention of business or two (to get the tax write off) and a few brews you managed to seek onto the golf course, will result in an undeniably good time.

Get ready for several hours of fun until you lose your ball to the water hazard. This prominent sport originated in Scotland during the 1100s, has evolved into one of today’s most prestigious, and at times, frustrating games.

Tip: Many business professionals pick this game up in their spare time as it is not uncommon for important business matters to be discussed on the golf course. However if you become fairly good, you may not want to always beat your boss, it might burse his ego and may be counter productive. Remember you are there to have a good time.

Popular Misconceptions: GOLF is an acronym for Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden. This is actually an urban legend.

Objectives: The objective of the game is for the player to use several types of clubs to hit a ball into each hole on the golf course in the lowest number of strokes.

Equipment: To get started you will need a set of golf clubs, golf balls, and a place to golf. We recommend buying an entry level equipment to make sure you stick with it. You should also wear a slim fit dress shirt to look great on the golf course.

Golf is a great game which requires lots of concentration and respect as it must be one of the hardest games I have ever played. Getting started in golf is much easier than it ever was with more public courses around than ever. Golf equipment is getting cheaper and there are many options to choose from.

My best advice for anyone getting started in golf is to find a PGA Professional that they like and take some lessons to get the foundation layed down then also use the professional to help you make the right choice in golf equipment. They will be trying to make a profit from the sale of your clubs like anyone would but they are involved in golf because of their love for the sport so you will get good advice from them where a shop will only see you as a profit margin.
